The Cricket by Sean P. Means The Salt Lake Tribune February 29, 2012 9:42 am The Cricket was so busy during the Sundance Film Festival last month, he hadn't noticed that he had not seen George Zinn anywhere. Popping into Zinn, a Utah gadfly who shows up unannounced at any event that draws a crowd, has been a regular feature of The Cricket's Sundance adventures. Norma Hodgson Zinn, Adoptive Mother of George Zinn

The Ogden Standard-Examiner , May 27, 1928 Norma Hodgson married Overton Zinn in July of 1928, 27 years before they would adopt their son George from a Greek Orphanage. She was the daughter of prominent Salt Lake City architect Leslie Simmons Hodgson , who built many important buildings including Ogden High School (1936), the LDS Branch for the Deaf (1916), the U.S. Forest Service Building (1932) and the Ogden Municipal Building (1939) among others. Overton Zinn was a High Priest in the LDS Church for the 47th Ward. While it sounds like an elevated position, he was basically an elder at his local branch.
